Daddy Van Productions is currently working with Disturbed in producing their concert videos. Disturbed’s 2011 international tour includes a national stint on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival and their first-ever shows in South America playing their classics as well as cuts from their latest release.
Disturbed’s tour is in support of their fifth album “Asylum”, which offers fans their most ambitious recording yet. Disturbed are a staple on the heavy metal/hard rock scene. They have continued to impress critics and fans alike, and their live performances are much of the reason.
The promoter of the tour, John Reese, said he doesn't think “anything's been done like this production-wise in the rock/metal world.” As John Moyer, Disturbed’s bassist put it in an interview with ARTISTSdirect editor Rick Florino, “you're seeing production values and performances that rival what you'd see at a pop concert.” For a band that is defined by a consistent visual appeal, Disturbed’s live concert demanded concert video effects reminiscent of their classic imagery as well as produc a whole new range of visual accompaniment.
By using visual elements from Disturbed’s early career (“The Guy”, their official mascot and the band’s “Believe” symbol) as well as new imagery influenced by “Asylum”, Charlie Terrell has produced a live concert video experience that echoes the visual appeal of Disturbed’s early career, as well as the band’s newfound maturity.
Terrell also directed the band’s debut video from Asylum. The “Animal” video shoot used elements of Terrell’s tribal aesthetic to accompany the song’s lycanesque feel.
